Investigators believe two convicted murderers who pulled off a shawshank redemption style prison break in new york last week may now have fled to vermont.

Vermont's governor Peter Shumlin said Police believe the men thought Vermont would be a "cooler" destination with fewer officers on their tail. Officials said the north-eastern US state was working to get the "dangerous men" locked up.
New York governor Andrew Cuomo told some of the 450 officers involved in the search to follow every lead they had. Cuomo said quote follow them as if it's the lead that's going to break the case, and added that it is only a matter of time before the escaped prisoners are caught.
The manhunt in northern New York and surrounding areas has now extended to campsites and boat slips in neighbouring Vermont.
