Sanaa was hit by new fuel shortages on Thursday, after shipments of oil were blocked at the port of Hodeidah amid a standoff between Houthi fighters and Saudi-led coalition forces.
Footage shows long queues of cars attempting to reach an oil station in the capital, with many residents expressing their frustration.
"There is hunger, there is no oil and no country, no society, no one [is taking action]. This means that the Yemeni people will die while the world is watching," said a resident.
Spokesperson for the Yemen Oil Company in Sanaa, Amin al-Shabati, blamed the Saudi-led coalition for the fuel shortages. "The reason is the detention of ships of oil derivatives by the 'aggression coalition' [Saudi-led coalition] and their mercenaries under false allegations," he said.
The standoff between Houthi forces and the Saudi-led coalition has worsened following the recent Houthi-claimed drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities in Abqaiq, with coalition forces reportedly launching a military operation north of Hodeidah on Friday.
