Croatian national team coach Ante Cacic spoke of having 'indications' about a 'small group' causing troubles in order to 'compromise the Croatian national team,' while speaking at a press conference in Bordeaux, Tuesday, ahead of Croatia's final group stage match against Spain at the Matmut Atlantique stadium.
Cacic went on to add "our only way to fight against it, is our behaviour on the pitch, our play and as much as I see it has managed to spread awareness in Croatia, that people have realised that nobody can terrorise, in that way anybody, least of all someone who is representing the country on such a high level."
A group of unidentified Croatian supporters launched flares and firecrackers onto the pitch during the match between Croatia and the Czech Republic at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in St. Etienne on June 17. French authorities reportedly launched a joint investigation with their Croatian counterparts in order to identify and apprehend the culprits.
