First U.S. Offshore Wind Farm to Break Ground This July

Offshore wind power has not yet materialized in the U.S. , even though it's a source of renewable energy that Europeans have been investing in for decades. Debates have swirled about the viability of wind farms off US coastlines.
That, however, may be about to change.
The Block Island Wind Farm is set to break ground in July off the coast of Rhode Island, and with it, the future of offshore wind in the U.S. seems very real. If completed, it will be the first offshore wind farm in the U.S.
