30.04.2016
Russian forces delivered around four tonnes of humanitarian aid in the Syrian town of Jinan in Hama Province, Friday, after the town was liberated from militants by government forces.
The aid packages consist of basic provisions including canned fish and meat, bottled water, rice, flour, sugar and bread from Russian flour. Children also received treats including biscuits, sweets and waffles.
Most inhabitants of Jinan were forced to flee their homes one and a half years ago, after the al-Qaida-affiliated Al-Nusra Front seized the town. Residents began returning only recently after government troops liberated the town, pushing militants out 6 km (3.7 miles) from Jinan.
Humanitarian aid is being delivered to cities, towns and villages across Syria following the ceasefire agreement reached between Russia, US and the International Syria Support Group, which came into force on February 27.
