Ninety-three-year-old yoga master Nanammal displayed her unbelievable stretching skills during a yoga session with students in Coimbatore, Sunday. She performed poses like the plough pose, the standing forward bend and even the scale pose lotus variation (lifting her entire body with her hands only while sitting cross-legged) with an unbelievable level of composure. The aged yoga master has been doing yoga since her childhood, and has thus escaped any physical suffering, she said during an interview, adding: "I've never visited a hospital. I have five children - none of them ever has visited a hospital." On Sunday, India celebrated the first International Yoga Day along with 192 other countries following the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposal to make the event official at the UN General Assembly in September 2014. Modi himself led over 35,000 people in a 35-minute yoga session in New Delhi as participants - including officials, students, and India's armed forces - took to their mats on the Rajpath ceremonial boulevard to perform stretches, meditative moves and breathing exercises.
