SOT, Jair Bolsonaro, Brazilian President (Portuguese): "I am very happy I am here. In the afternoon I'll meet with Bush. Tomorrow I will have one event that was supposed to be in New York. But sadly, since the mayor didn't want me there. We are being very well received here. And our goals with this trip will be reached. We will deepen our friendship and commercial co-operation with this country that I always loved since I was a child."

SOT, Jair Bolsonaro, Brazilian President (Portuguese): "Protests can happen anywhere without problems. What cannot happen is that a city's executor-in-chief organises an action against one authority that represents the 8th biggest economy in the world. This is not what the majority of the American people thinks, that's not what the majority of New Yorkers think. I love New York too and intend to visit the city if the mayor lets me. It has always been a dream of mine. And you can be sure that my visit there as president will help to deepen our friendship and co-operation."

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro landed at Dallas's Fort Worth International Airport on Wednesday.
Bolsonaro later emerged from his hotel to greet supporters. After shaking hands, he was handed a texan cowboy hat which provoked much amusement amongst spectators.
Speaking to the media, the Brazilian president touched upon his recent cancellation of a trip to New York after protests from gay rights and environmental campaigners.
"Tomorrow I will have one event that was supposed to be in New York. But sadly, since the mayor didn't want me there," he reminded the crowd.
"This is not what the majority of the American people thinks, that's not what the majority of New Yorkers think," he added.
Bolsonaro was due to attend a ceremony in his honour organised by the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce.
His spokesman blamed New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and interest groups.
Bolsonaro is on a two-day visit to The Lone Star State, where he will address business leaders before meeting with former president George W Bush.
