04.05.2016
The 'Frisco Five' hunger strikers and their supporters overran San Francisco's City Hall, Tuesday, to demand the resignation of the city's Chief of Police Gregory P. Suhr.
Their protest began with a march on City Hall, during which protesters demanded justice for Mario Woods and others who, according to the protesters, have fallen victim to police brutality under the administration of Suhr.
Sellassie Blackwell, Ike Pinkston, Ilyich (Equipto) Sato, Edwin Lindo and Maria Cristina Gutierrez - dubbed the 'Frisco Five' - have been camped outside Mission Police Station since April, refusing to eat again until Suhr resigns. The 'Frisco Five' left their camp in order to demand that San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee removes Suhr from his post.
26 year-old African-American Mario Woods was fatally shot by police 15 times in December last year; he was armed with a knife at the time of the incident.
