Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Anatoli Antonov praised the signing of a memorandum on the prevention of the flight safety incidents in Syria, signed by both Moscow and Washington, describing it as "a positive step," speaking from Moscow, Tuesday. "This document is of the considerable practical importance, it regulates the operations of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles in the air space of Syria," said Antonov, adding that "the memorandum contain the range of rules and restrictions aimed at preventing incidents between military aircraft of Russia and the United States." According to the agreement there an established "24-hour operational communication between the military headquarters of Russia and the United States" will come into force, as well as the "mechanisms of interaction including provision of mutual assistance in case of emergency," said Antonov.
