20.02.2016
A group of right-wing nationalist protesters attacked a branch of the Russian Sberbank in Kiev, Saturday, during an anti-government rally on the second anniversary of the Maidan coup's bloodiest day.
Protesters, many of whom were dressed in military fatigues, threw rocks at the bank, breaking several windows, as security forces attempted to defuse the situation.
Around 20,000 protesters are expected to take part in Saturday's anti-government rally including members of the Ukrainian National Assembly, the Right Sector and the volunteer battalions.
The Euromaidan protests began on November 21, 2013, and escalated on November 30, leading to the removal from power of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich. More than 100 people, later dubbed the 'Heavenly Hundred,' are believed to have died during violence in Kiev between February 19-21, 2014.
