A local leader for the NAACP is under investigation in Washington state for identifying herself as black on a city job application.
The investigation sparked as a Caucasian couple claimed to be her biological parents.
City Council President Ben Stuckart confirmed during an interview Friday that Rachel Dolezal identified herself as, white, African-Ameican, and Native American on a city job application.
The 37-year-old currently serves as chair of Spokane's independent police ombudsman commission.
Dolezal is also president of the NAACP chapter in Spokane.
The probe was opened after local media questioned Dolezal's racial identity,
