The long-awaited Chaplin's World museum, dedicated to the life and work of the celebrated artist and filmmaker, opened in Corsier-sur-Vevey on Lake Geneva, Saturday.
The Hollywood-inspired museum complex is located on the vast estate of Chaplin's renovated mansion, the Manoir de Ban, where he spent the last 25 years of his life until his death in 1977.
Members of Charlie Chaplin's family, including two of his sons Michael and Eugene Chaplin, participated in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the 127th anniversary of the legendary actor's birth.
The museum will be opened for the public on Sunday. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to walk down the 'Easy Street' and Hollywood boulevard, sit in a barber's chair and try on the uniform from 'The Great Dictator' movie.
