Syria: Turkish forces continue siege of Nusaybin as curfew drags on

Heavy shelling continued to rain down on the Kurdish town of Nusaybin in the Turkish-Syrian border, Friday, as the government curfew declared 20 days ago continues.
Footage filmed from Qamshilo on the Syrian side of the border, showed the destruction caused by the shelling, with smoke rising from the debris. Gunfire and shelling could also be heard as the fight went on between Turkish military and Kurdish militants.
Turkish security forces have engaged in a counter-insurgency operation in the country's southeast since last July, when a fragile peace with the Kurdish separatist group the PKK (Kurdish Workers' Party) collapsed. On Friday, the Turkish army reportedly sent reinforcements to the region as they suffered several losses in recent days.
