08.10.2015
Four residents were injured after a fire broke out at a refugee centre in the Bavarian town of Ingolstadt on Thursday. Residents were evacuated by shuttle bus to other accommodation. According to police, the fire started in the basement of the centre in the early morning. Firefighters extinguished the flames quickly while two adults and two children were taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. Some 104 refugees are currently temporarily housed in the centre which is a former hotel. Police have not yet declared whether the fire was the result of arson, however a series of attacks against refugee shelters have taken place across Germany in recent weeks.
