Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived in Moscow, Tuesday, to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation in Syria. The Syrian President thanked his Russia counterpart for Russian assistance in the fight against militant groups including the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) and informed the Russian leader about the plans of government forces in Syria. According to Presidential spokesperson Dmitri Peskov, Assad and Putin held lengthy negotiations both alone and in the presence of Russia's top diplomats.
