Sentencing Phase Begins in Trial of Colorado Theater Gunman

The sentencing phase for James Holmes has begun.
The 27-year-old assaulted a movie theater in Colorado during 2012 killing 12 people while injuring 70 more.
Last week a trial jury convicted Holmes on 165 counts of murder and other crimes related to the shooting.
This phase of the trail is expected to take a month as the prosecution and defense debate Holmes' eligibility for the death penalty.
During this portion of the trail jurors will be told of aggravating factors to his crimes and how they will apply to sentencing.
These factors include Holmes' slaying of a child under 12 years of age.
