Microsoft, not Carriers, Will Now Be in Charge of Windows 10 Mobile Updates

Instead of waiting for wireless carriers to approve and push out software updates for phones running Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft is taking matters into its own hands.
Microsoft quietly announced on its Ignite blog that it will "proactively update supported devices with necessary updates to address issues."
Although the blog post refers to updates for business and enterprise licenses, ZDNET confirmed with a Microsoft spokesperson that the new move will apply to all devices running Windows 10 Mobile, whether business or personal.
The change — as minor and boring as it may sound — is a big win for users.
