Baltic States Heighten's Security Over Russian Aggression

Poland and the Baltic states said on Thursday they were seeking permanent NATO deployments on their soil to counter increased Russian military activity, and a Polish internal document suggested the matter may be raised at a Warsaw summit next year. The Baltic states - Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - said they were preparing a joint approach to NATO command asking for permanent stationing of a brigade. All three former Soviet republics have Russian minorities and fear Kremlin moves to inflame tensions there after a pro-Russian insurrection in eastern Ukraine.
