Police presence was high in Manhattan on Sunday, after a powerful explosion rocked the Chelsea neighbourhood on Saturday night, injuring 29 people.
The bomb was set off at 135 23rd Street outside the Associated Blind Housing facility, an association that cares for the visually impaired. The explosive was reportedly put in a dumpster near the premises.
The blast wounded 29 people with shrapnel and flying glass, however all have now been released from hospital.
A second device, an unexploded pressure-cooker, was found just a few blocks away from the scene.
An investigation has been launched into the attack and the bomb is being treated as intentional. However the motive remains unknown, with no party yet claiming responsibility for the bomb.
