Hundreds of Syrian Kurds turned out to a protest held in Kobani on Thursday, to protest against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's recent announcement of new operations to begin east of the Euphrates, in Syrian Kurdish-held territory.
Rally-goers can be seen chanting slogans, waving flags and carrying banners during the protest.
Democratic Society Movement member Ahmad Sheikho said that "Turkish threats and violations in Syria are not surprising nor are they unlikely, for it [Turkey] interfered [in Syria] since the beginning of the revolution."
Sheiko also claimed that in Afrin, Turkey was "deporting its locals, and now holding a demographic change," and called on "the international community, mainly the US, to meet their promises to the people they claimed they support."
"If they are serious, they must stand against Erdogan's aspirations and threats," Sheiko concluded.
Ergodan announced that new operations east of the Euphrates would be carried out within the next few days while speaking at a defense industry summit in Ankara on Wednesday.
