A mourning ceremony for Iranian victims of last month's stampede in Mina, Saudi Arabia, was held in Tehran on Sunday. A large crowd of people attended the funeral ceremonies in Tehran on Sunday, including high-level Iranian clerics and officials. The crowds chanted a number of political slogans including "Down with Israel" and "Death to Al Saud." The stampede took place after two large masses of Hajj pilgrims collided at a crossroads in Mina, a few kilometers east of the holy city of Mecca, on their way to participate in the symbolic stoning of Satan in Jamarat. The resulting crush killed over 1,200 pilgrims. Iran has blamed the Saudi Arabia authorities' incompetence in handling safety at the rituals as the cause of the deadly incident.
