Australia: Provoking sculpture shows human weakness to car crashes

The Transport Accident Commission unveiled ‘Graham,’ a sculpture by Patricia Piccinini, displayed in the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne on Thursday. The piece intends to show how humans will look like if we continue to evolve to the point where we could survive car crashes.
Graham is designed by a trauma surgeon Christian Kenfield and a crash investigator David Logan as well as Piccinini, is an interactive sculpture developed for ‘Towards Zero,’ a Victorian State road safety campaign.
According to Piccinini: "he is confronting, he is a mutant, he is not the person we actually want to end up being, and that's the point, that he is not the answer, the point is actually we need to slow down and to understand our vulnerability because we are not built like him."
