R&B Legend Ben E. King Dies at 76

R&B and soul singer Ben E. King, who sang the classic hit "Stand By Me," has died. King's publicist said King died of natural causes on Thursday. The singer, who was born Benjamin Earl Nelson, got his start performing with doo-wop group The Drifters in the late 1950s, co-writing and performing such hit songs as "There Goes My Baby." King later left the group to kick off his solo career.
He had numerous hit songs, inclduing "Spanish Harlem" and the instant classic "Stand By Me," which he co-wrote.
