25.06.2015
Thanks to Google Street View, you can embark on extreme adventures while enjoying extreme comfort. Google Maps announced that for the first time, you can now scale El Capitan in Yosemite, California — from wherever you happen to be. The company explained in a blog post that the new feature allows users all over the world to virtually experience a 3,000-foot climb up El Capitan through images from world-famous climbers like Alex Honnold, Lynn Hill and Tommy Caldwell. Not only can you take a 360-degree tour, but you can also ascend vertically. According to the blog post, the Street View imagery was captured using "tried-and-true climbing gear like cams and ropes to make sure the camera wouldn't fall to the ground."
