A huge fire engulfed the 19th century cathedral in the city of Nantes in western France on Monday, causing major damage but no injuries. Up to 60 firefighters fought the blaze at the basilica of Saint-Donatien, which broke out around 10.45am, shortly after morning Mass. The roof was being repaired at the time of the blaze and the work is thought to be linked to the fire.
