Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka spoke at a press conference after an emergency meeting with the Visegrad Group Countries in Prague on Friday, where he addressed the migrant and refugee crisis rocking Europe. During his speech, Sobotka said the European Union should finance the creation of "hot spots, which are facilities for immigrants on the outer borders of Schengen." He also expressed the need for "support and solidarity" across the continent but refused a "quota system that would introduce any kind of mechanisms of measures." Sobotka discussed the crisis with his counterparts from Poland, Ewa Kopacz, Hungary, Victor Orban, and Slovakia, Robert Fico, who all make up the Visgrad Group, an alliance aimed at advancing military, economic and energy cooperation between them. The V4 Group was created in a summit in the Hungarian castle town of Visegrad on February 15, 1991. All four members of the V4 joined the European Union on May 1, 2004.
