Spain: Protesters demand open borders for refugees in Barcelona

Hundreds of protesters gathered at Plaza de Cataluna in central Barcelona on Wednesday, calling for open borders so that refugees and migrants can enter Europe. Under the slogan "Shout for refugees", the protesters demanded a solution to the ongoing crisis.
In mid-March, thousands of people rallied in more than 50 cities across Spain against the EU-Turkey deal on refugees.
The deal stipulates that one Syrian refugee be resettled in the EU for every 'illegal' migrant returned to Turkey, while aid from the EU to Turkey for handling the refugee crisis will be doubled from three to six billion euros. The EU also agreed to accelerate the visa liberalisation deal with Turkey, and to speed up Turkey's EU accession negotiations.
