Scuffles broke out as around 200 supporters of several far-right groups protested in Dudley on Saturday against plans to build a new mosque in the area. Members of All Football Fans/Firms Against Islamisation (AFFFAI), the English Defence League, and Britain First marched through the town, chanting hateful slogans and carrying English flags. Protesters repeatedly pushed against the police line but the situation did not escalate. A protester appeared to be unwell and received assistance from police officers on-site. At least one person was detained by the police but no additional arrests have been reported. Saturday’s march is the third this year with previous demonstrations having been organised by the English Defence League and Britain First.
