Miners of the Canadian mining firm Eldorado Gold took to the streets of Athens on Thursday, to protest potential layoffs, following the company's threats to pull out of Greece for not receiving necessary licenses.
Along with their hard helmets and fluorescent vests, miners marched from the Ministry of Environment towards the Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' residence, before ending their march outside the Eldorado Gold headquarters.
There, they were met by the company's management, including CEO George Burns, who informed them that "constructive dialogue" has been started with the Greek government.
