At least 21 people were killed and more than a thousand wounded after a 6.8 magnitude deadly quake rattled parts of Eastern Anatolia on Friday evening. Footage from the city of Elazig shows rescue workers on a collapsed building as search for survivors continues.
One of the local residents said "We haven't seen more than this, AFAD came [Turkish disaster and Emergency management authority], security officials came, we are thankful they are pulling out injure and sort out pulling out dead, we also have our people under the collapsed building, we are waiting. We don't have any news from them there in Sursuru, we will get our dead and it's gods will, what can we do."
The earthquake struck near the town of Sivrice AT 8:55 pm local time (17:55 GMT) in the eastern province of Elazig where at least ten buildings collapsed. The earthquake was reportedly felt in nearby countries like Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.
