France: Belgium and Italy fans defy alcohol ban ahead of Euro clash

Belgium and Italy fans who had gathered to see their teams play in tonight's Group E match were seen drinking in the streets of Lyon, Monday, even after authorities declared to prohibit the consumption and serving of alcohol on match days following repeated incidents of violence in Marseille.
Lyon is one of the cities affected by the law however fans were seen consuming alcohol throughout the city centre. Commenting on the proposed ban, a Belgium fan said "The police saw us and they did not say anything so today it's a big party, just a big party."
Over the course of two days, clashes erupted between English and Russian fans in the lead up to their match last Saturday. Several English fans were detained in the clashes after dozens were injured.
