Uber Offices Raided in Paris, Service Banned (again) in Germany

Uber is having a rough week in Europe. The ride-hailing service had its Paris office raided by police on Monday as part of an investigation into UberPop, the company's lowest-priced service. The French government had threatened to ban UberPop at the beginning of this year, following protests from the taxi industry that its drivers operate without proper licenses. An Uber spokesperson told Mashable on Wednesday, "Police officers turned up and kept the whole Uber team in custody for an entire day, which we believe was disproportionate, especially as the exact reason for the visit still remains unclear. Despite these events, we remain confident."
