Syria: SAA forces thwart rebel attack in Aleppo

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) managed to block insurgent attacks in West and South Aleppo on Friday, in which a key leader of the al-Nusra Front was reportedly killed.
The SAA forces managed to launch a series of strikes, concentrating on insurgent positions. The residential area of al-Zahraa witnessed some of the heaviest bombings.
Aleppo is facing some of the fiercest fighting it has seen since the beginning of the conflict, following the collapse of the ceasefire and the Russia-US peace deal. Medical groups and human rights activists have highlighted the plight of the residents as the war continues with renewed intensity in the city.
