President of the European Council Donald Tusk stated the EU position on the migrant crisis and 'Brexit' (British exit) negotiations at the European Parliament in Brussels, Tuesday.
Addressing the migrant crisis, Tusk said the EU has "no more than two months to get things under control", as millions more refugees entered the Schengen area over the Christmas period. "The March European Council will be the last moment to see if our strategy works, if it doesn't we will face grave consequences such as the collapse of Schengen," he warned MEPs.
With regards to negotiations between the British government and the EU in the runup to a 'Brexit' referendum next year, Tusk said he was doing everything in his power "to find a satisfactory solution", adding that "the result of the referendum is more unpredictable than ever before".
