Members of the French special police force raided a building at Rue de Prague, in the Neuhof district in Strasbourg, Monday, in connection with Friday’s attacks in Paris. Local sources said that the search took place after a woman called the police claiming that she saw Salah Abdeslam at the premises in the early hours of the evening. During the raid, inhabitants of the building were evacuated to a nearby school. After six hours the operation was brought to an end and declared a false alarm. Salah Abdeslam is suspected of being involved in the Paris attacks that took place on Friday, in which his brother Ibrahim, blew himself up outside the cafe Comptoir Voltaire. Salah was reportedly stopped by French police following the attacks, but then let go. At least 132 people were killed and more than 349 left injured, 99 critically, after a series of coordinated attacks were carried out at six different locations across Paris on Friday evening. At least 87 of those victims were killed after gunmen opened fire during a concert at the Bataclan theatre, taking dozens hostage before detonating suicide bombs. Police stormed the venue, freeing the hostages and killing one of the attackers. Dozens more were killed in attacks at the French national stadium and a string of popular bars and restaurants. The so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
