A bus carrying 22 children has crashed in a ditch killing at least two children and seriously injuring five on Thursday in Thuringia.
Fifteen children, aged between eight and 11, have sustained minor injuries, according to local reports, after the bus slipped on ice and rolled several times into a ditch. Both children who were killed in the accident in central Germany were eight years old. Psychologists have been brought into the school.
Rescue workers, including from the fire department and motoring association ADAC, attended to the site of the crash before bringing a crane in. Debris, including remnants from seats and a wheel, could be seen in the footage, which also shows the bus lying in the ditch behind tyre break marks and a smashed windscreen.
Fog and cobblestones are also said to have contributed to the cause of the crash.
