Donald Trump Files $500 Million Lawsuit Against Univision

One day after NBC cut ties with him, real estate mogul and 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has filed a $500 million lawsuit against the Spanish-language network Univision — just as he threatened he would. Trump is suing Univision for terminating his contract after Trump's recent inflammatory comments about immigration, and for refusing to air the Trump-backed Miss Universe Pageant. In the wake of the controversy, Trump hasn't backed down. Appearing yesterday at the City Club of Chicago, Trump hinted at lawsuits against both Univision and NBC for cutting ties and simultaneously doubled down the immigration stance that got him into hot water in the first place, saying, “If NBC is so weak and so foolish to not understand the serious illegal immigration problem in the United States, coupled with the horrendous and unfair trade deals we are making with Mexico, then their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court."
