Thousands marched through the streets of Brussels on Sunday to express their solidarity with the people of Greece who are suffering from a long-running debt crisis. Protesters marched with placards and waved Greek flags. Following the march, anti-austerity activists proceeded to rally in the city centre. A reported 3,500 people were believed to be in attendance, among them more than 50 organisations and various trade unions. The protest comes ahead of an emergency European Union summit on Monday in which finance ministers and EU officials will discuss proposals to keep Greece from defaulting on its debt and exiting the eurozone. The southern European country has just 10 days before its bail-out programme expires at the end of June. Courtesy of Vasileious Katsardis
