American former world boxing champion Roy Jones Jr., who recently asked Russian President Vladimir Putin for a Russian passport, declared during an interview with RT in Sevastopol, Monday, that he wants to challenge either of the Klitschko brothers for a fight. The boxer says he is against neither Wladimir nor Vitali personally nor politically and simply would be interested in boxing with them. While denying any political motives Roy Jones Jr. said that the main purpose of seeking citizenship in Russia is to "break new ground" and provide boxers with good training opportunities. He mentioned several Russian sportsmen who live and train in the United States such as Kovalev and Sharapova. "They are not trying to do something political. it is strictly about boxing and getting better" stated Jones. Roy Jones Jr. took part in a boxing event in Sevastopol in Crimea last week. Prior to that, he asked President Putin about the possibility of obtaining a Russian passport, saying that it would make it easier for him to conduct his business activities, which include trying to set up a number of boxing schools.
