Protesters: "Nawaz Sharif is a thief."
Khan: "Now tell me if someone says this about another person and he does not resign, now the case against Nawaz Sharif is proceeding in the Supreme Court, shouldn't he resign?"
Tens of thousands of Tehreek-e-Insaf party (PTI) supporters took part in a rally in Islamabad on Wednesday, demanding the resignation of Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Opposition leader Imran Khan addressed the crowd arguing that Sharif ought to resign, at the same time as the Supreme Court is launching an investigation into the prime minister. Khan accuses Sharif of corruption after his name appeared in the leaked Panama Papers. He believes the prime minister's family used offshore companies to avoid paying tax.
Originally Khan had planned to bring Islamabad to a standstill in protest, but abandoned the idea after the Supreme Court announced its decision to investigate Sharif. The prime minister denies any wrongdoing.
