Thousands of supporters from the PEGIDA movement flooded central Dresden on Monday to mark the one-year anniversary since its founding. The demonstrators from the right-wing group who support anti-migration and anti-Islamisation waved German flags and denounced Chancellor Angela Merkel with derogatory slogans and banners. Some members of the crowd held signs supporting the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who has taken a particularly hard line against what he believes as the 'Islamisation' of Europe. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has condemned the protest saying "stay away from those with hate in their hearts,". PEGIDA originally came to power in east Germany but now has branches extending throughout the country.
