Obama Shores up Jewish Support at D.C. Synagogue

President Barack Obama says he has America’s Jews in his corner.
Obama is headed to a Washington synagogue Friday in an effort to rally the Jewish faithful as negotiations resume on a final nuclear deal with Iran, which is opposed by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and others who say it strengthens an enemy of Israel. In an interview with Goldberg published Thursday afternoon, Obama said that critiquing Israel when it falls short “is entirely consistent with being supportive of the State of Israel and the Jewish people.”
Obama does have broad-based support among Jews: Seventy percent of Jewish voters backed his reelection.
