Two people were killed and more than 100 wounded on Friday when twin explosions detonated at a pro-Kurdish political rally in south-east Turkey, two days ahead of what is expected to be most closely fought national election of a decade.
At least 25 people were said to be in a serious condition after the blasts detonated among crowds gathered in the Kurdish majority city of Diyarbakir, for the most important rally – and largest – rally for the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) ahead of voting day.
Mahmut, a resident of the Kurdish majority city said "The explosions were less than 50 metres away from me, So many people around me were wounded. They were bleeding from the face, the head, legs and arms. They were screaming. They were rushed to the hospital."
