SOT, Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson (Russian): "We welcome the agreements between Israel and the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine on the ceasefire. The agreement was achieved due to Egyptian efforts. The acting agreement, now we are talking about it, the agreement has come into force this morning. We hope that it will become a prologue for sustainable de-escalation. We urge the Israelis and the Palestinians to show restraint and to avoid any new outbreaks of violence."

SOT, Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson (Russian): "The clashes between supporters and opponents of the former head of the state are continuing, unfortunately. We condemn the use of violent methods for solving political questions. As you all have already noted, only chaos, loss of live and social-economic instability are the consequences of such processes [clashes]. We have also mentioned the messages that the second deputy-speaker of the Senate, Jeanine Anez is now acting as the interim president. We are proceeding on the assumption that the appointment and the legitimacy of the head of state should be strictly framed in legal provisions of the country’s constitution and undoubtedly to serve and to unite the nation, not to disintegrate it."

Russia condemns the use of violence in Bolivia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated at her weekly press briefing in Moscow on Thursday.
She said that “Only chaos, loss of live and social-economic instability” were the results of using violence to solve political questions.
The spokesperson also criticised interim president Jeanine Anez, saying she should try to unite Bolivians instead of deteriorating the already fragile situation.
On Sunday, Bolivian President Evo Morales announced his resignation, following weeks of unrest in the wake of the disputed October 20 presidential election. Morales said he had received threats from opposition leaders and was eventually forced by the country's military to step down.
Zakharova also commented on the Egypt-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine.
“We hope that it will become a prologue for sustainable de-escalation. We urge the Israelis and the Palestinians to show restraint and to avoid any new outbreaks of violence," Zakharova said.
