The founder of "Po Project" a non-profit company that uses 3D printing to create prosthetic hands and prosthetic hand wearer Elias Beniez showed off the results of their combined efforts in the form of a violin recital at the "Po Office" in Asuncion, on Thursday.
Beniez teamed up with "Sonidos de la Teirra" foundation which teaches amputees how to play a musical instrument. "Now I'm playing the violin and we'll see what comes next," said Beniez.
The "Po Project" hands are created under creative commons so that the technology can be shared and improved upon for free. They also offer to make prosthetic hands for free for those who cannot afford them. "It is by liberating that we can move forward in terms of technique and technology," claimed founder Fernando Vallese.
