Russian Investigative Committee Spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko announced that the attack in Kerch Polytechnic College was requalified from terror attack to mass murder, speaking in Moscow on Wednesday.
Petrenko said the committee had identified the suspected attacker as 18-year-old Vladislav Roslyakov, who according to her went on a shooting rampage in the school and afterwards killed himself.
"Given the picture of the perpetration the investigation supposes preliminarily that this young man shot all people, present in the college, and then committed a suicide," she said.
"Due to this the criminal proceeding in accordance with article 'terror attack' was requalified to part 2 Article 105 of Criminal Code - 'murder of two or more people general hazardous method'".
According to EMERCOM, at least 19 people were killed in the college attack with over 50 people injured.
