Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras condemned the building of "higher" walls and the violent treatment of refugees and migrants during his address at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday. "We do not believe that the future of Europe or the future of our world can be built on ever-higher walls or children dying at our doorsteps," said the Greek leader, before reminding his audience that "many of our ancestors were refugees and migrants." He finished by saying "we cannot allow racism and xenophobia to destroy our common principles."
