Twitter to Jack Dorsey: Give up Square If You Want to Be Permanent CEO

If Jack Dorsey wants to be the permanent CEO of Twitter, he'll need to give up his job as CEO of Square.
That's pretty much the only way to interpret a note that Twitter's board posted on Monday, saying it would only consider candidates who could make a "full-time commitment" to the job. The board said its search was proceeding with "urgency," but that it would take all the time necessary to find the right person.
Some possible names that others have suggested include Flipboard CEO Mike McCue, Twitter's own president of global revenue Adam Bain and just-for-laughs dark horse Snoop Dogg. Twitter's board named Dorsey its interim CEO after Dick Costolo announced he would be stepping down on July 1, Dorsey said he would remain as CEO of Square for the time being.
