The demolition of Glasgow’s Red Road tower blocks on Sunday was only partially successful, after two of the six buildings were left largely intact following the controlled explosion. Thousands of locals gathered to watch the botched demolition, with authorities now left scratching their heads on how to remove the remaining two structures. Glasgow city officials have since apologised for the failed demolition. The iconic tower blocks once dominated the city's skyline and were among the tallest buildings in Europe when first erected in the 1960s as part of an ambitious project to tackle Glasgow's post-war housing crisis. Over the years their reputation declined as they became identified with crime, drug use, and urban isolation. Courtesy of @thebhoynick
