Italy: Police batter anti-Renzi protesters with batons as PM arrives in Bergamo

Clashes erupted between police and protesters who rallied against Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's visit to the northern Italian city of Bergamo near Milan, Saturday. Several protesters were injured, according to local media.
The protesters held placards reading "No Renzi" while chanting anti-Renzi slogans. The protest was organised against cuts to education proposed by Renzi's government.
